City Coordinators are the heart of our mission. By leading Weekend Adventures in your hometown, you’ll create powerful opportunities for Christian travelers to connect through worship, community, and local activities. Your efforts will help others experience God's creation and encounter Jesus in a deeply personal way.

What a Weekend Might Look Like:

Saturday:

10:00 AM - Welcome Travelers at Your Church with Games and Networking

12:00 PM  - Lunch at your favorite restaurant

2:30 PM - Visit some of your favorite tourist attractions

5:00 PM - Dinner at your second favorite restaurant

6:30 PM - Bible Study & Conversation

Sunday:

  • 10:30 AM - Worship at Your Church

  • 12:00 PM - Lunch at your third favorite restaurant

  • 2:30 PM - Everyone Head Home

*NOTE: All times are tentative and will vary based on your recommendations.

What Support Looks Like:
  • Live Virtual Training (2-3 hours): Get all the tools and knowledge you need to lead a successful Weekend Adventure with confidence.

  • Ready-to-Use Google Doc: Simply copy and paste the info to your Weekend Adventure FB group to help everyone stay oraganized and connected.

  • City Coordinator Community: You’ll join a private FB group with fellow City Coordinators—share ideas, ask questions, and celebrate victories together.

  • Ongoing Prayer & Encouragement: We’ll be praying for you and your event every step of the way, because we know this work is bigger than all of us.

  • Continual Guidance: From the planning stages to the final goodbyes, we’re here to provide hands-on support whenever you need it.

Why I Created Weekend Adventures

Hi, I’m Sarah, and I believe that exploring God’s creation with like-minded Christians can deeply strengthen our faith, create lasting relationships, and bring purpose to our travels.

My love for travel and community started back in middle school at church camp, where I experienced God in powerful ways through shared adventures. Later, as a Youth Ministry leader, I saw how group trips could transform faith and foster deeper connections.

In 2018, after a solo trip abroad, I realized how much more meaningful travel could be with others to share the journey. That’s why I created Weekend Adventures—to bring Christian travelers together for life-changing experiences that combine faith, community, and exploration.

 

Now, as Director of Travel Ministries for Christian Travelers’ Network, I’m on a mission to help 10,000 Christian travelers experience God’s creation in 2025. Are you ready to join us?

Your Path to Leading a Weekend Adventure

  1. Get Excited and Apply!
    Click the button below and fill out a quick application to let us know why you’re excited to host a Weekend Adventure in your hometown.
     
  2. Provide Your References
    Share the contact details of a few people who can vouch for your heart for service, leadership, community, and Christ.
     
  3. Submit a Short Video
    Introduce yourself and tell us why you’re passionate about creating an unforgettable experience for Christian travelers.
     
  4. Acceptance & Venue Coordination
    Once approved, we’ll work with you to secure the church, dining, and activity venues for your event, ensuring everything is set up for a seamless weekend.
     
  5. Join the Training
    Attend a 2–3 hour virtual session where we’ll equip you with everything you need—resources, tools, and a plan for hosting an incredible weekend.
     
  6. Lead with Confidence
    Step into your role as City Coordinator and create a weekend filled with faith, connection, and adventure for fellow travelers.
  • A City Coordinator is a volunteer who helps organize and host a Weekend Adventure for Christian travelers in their hometown or region. You’ll collaborate with us to coordinate local activities, fellowship, and worship at your church—creating an unforgettable experience for all!

  • City Coordinators commit to a 2-3 hour training session, some prep time to get everything set up, and hosting the weekend adventure (usually 2 days). You’ll schedule posts in the Facebook group ahead of time to share the itinerary and welcome attendees (we’ll help you set this up during training), and you’ll also engage with participants by responding to questions and messages in the group a few weeks leading up to the event.

  • You’re never alone! We provide a detailed training, a Google Doc with all the event info, and you’ll be added to a Facebook group where you can connect with other City Coordinators. And of course, we’re always praying for you and your event!

  • Not at all! We’re here to guide you. If you have a heart for serving others and sharing your faith, we’ll show you the ropes. You’ve got this!

  • Nope! We'll promote the event and handle registration. You'll just help by welcoming individuals in your events Facebook Group once they've signed up!

  • In addition to making lifelong connections, you'll get to attend a future Weekend Adventure for free (a $50 USD value) and get a free year of Christian Travelers Network membership ($144+ USD). Plus, if you host more than one event, your membership will renew at just $1/month!

  • You’ll be the main point of contact, ensuring the itinerary runs smoothly and everyone feels welcomed. We’ll provide all the details you need to manage the weekend with ease.

  • Not at all! Christian Travelers Network covers the venue costs - and attendees are responsible for their own lodging, meals, and visiting attractions expenses. Your role is to help us secure the location and organize the schedule—it’s all about creating a great experience for everyone.
